With help from a couple of friends, you can have tier 8 delves - and Hero track loot in the Great Vault - unlocked in less than 30 minutes by doing the easiest delves in World of Warcraft: The War Within.
Edit: Blizzard has greatly increased the difficulty of delves since this article was published.
Delves are new scenario-like mini dungeons available in World of Warcraft: The War Within. There are 12 delve locations, 4 in each region of Khaz Algar. Each delve has several story variations, with 37 unique stories for players to experience during the expansion.
With a party of 1-4 people, players can decide what difficulty they want to try the mini dungeon on and enter. Delves have Tiers 1 to 11, each corresponding with a recommended item level, starting at 515 for Tier 1.
If you're someone that already enjoys Mythic+, delves are going to seem really easy. If you're a raider who hasn't yet opened the Pandora's Box of Mythic+, Delves are a nice scenario to ease players into harder dungeons.
Each delve story will have two or three objectives to complete before opening the treasure room. All you have to do is complete the objectives with less than 5 deaths in the party to complete the delve and unlock the next Tier.
This Tuesday, September 10th, all delve difficulties unlocked in World of Warcraft: The War Within. Delves level 7 to 11 unlock Hero track loot in the Great Vault, powerful items that will help players get ahead of the curve in raid or Mythic+.
If players do level 8 delves, they can skip a couple of the upgrade levels that consume valorstones. If you're feeling up to increasing the difficulty a little bit, you can unlock Hero track gear in the Great Vault and open chests with 616 loot!
Although all delve stories are fairly simple - rescuing miners, collecting repair kits, killing a boss with little mechanics - some delves are faster than others. Here are the fastest and easiest delves to complete in The War Within to boost your character from Tier 3 to Tier 8.
PSA: Delve tiers are account bound, and you should NOT boost your delve tiers on your main character. Here's why:
Bountiful Delves on any difficulty have a 4% chance to drop a Delver's Bounty treasure map, guaranteeing a piece of powerful loot in the next delve. If you get a treasure map on a Tier 8 delve, you will get a piece of Hero track gear in your next Tier 8 delve!
The treasure maps drop with the same difficulty as the delve you're currently in. If you get a treasure map in the Tier 6 delve, the reward will be Tier 6. Save your treasure map luck for your main character when you're doing difficult delves!
Thankfully, boosting your tiers in one delve is account bound for all your characters AND unlocks higher tiers for all other delves in the continent. You can pick from one of these easy delves below to easily boost your character to Tier 8 in less than 30 minutes:
The Sinkhole Stories - Lurking Terror:
The Sinkhole is an underwater delve in Hallowfall. The entire delve is underwater, and you are at risk of drowning. There are bubble pockets scattered throughout the delve that refill your breath bar. Thankfully, you can also use the Noggenfogger Elixir or any form of underwater breathing spell to stay safe.
There are 3 easy objectives in the story variation Lurking Terror - collect 6 repair pouches, click the extra action button to repair the mech suit, and use the mech suit to destroy Kolbyss. There is no final boss in the delve, just destroy 100% of the Kolbyss needed to fill the quest bar. This delve is incredibly easy with no traps or slows, making this the perfect delve to power level your tiers and your friends' tiers.
Fungal Folly - Lost Miners:
Fungal Folly is a mushroom-themed delve just outside of Dornogol. Lost Miners is an easy search and rescue mission with only two objectives: rescue lost miners and kill the mushroom boss keeping them captive.
The delve mechanic in Fungal Folly is Sporbits. Sporbits are tiny spores floating around the delve. If you aggro them, they will swell and explode, dealing massive damage. Thankfully, you can easily move out of the radius once they start to swell.
Avoid Sporbits, fight mushroom mobs, and rescue 10 moldy miners before reaching the Delve's final boss, Spinshroom. Spinshroom is a large Fungarian that will spawn mushroom among range DPS, dealing massive damage if touched.
As long as the DPS and healer can avoid mushrooms, this boss will be very easy. After defeating Spinshroom, Brann and your team can open the treasure room.
The Waterworks - Stomping Some Sense
The Waterworks is a delve located in western Ringing Deeps. Kobolds are there disrupting Earthen machinery. The delve mechanic is collecting Purified Air. Similar to the air bubbles in The Sinkhole, collect Purified Air at least once every 2 minutes to avoid getting a debuff. With how easy this Delve is even on higher Tiers, you will probably only need to collect 2 canisters throughout the entire scenario.
There is only one objective in this scenario. Kobolds have stolen gear from the Earthens, and you need to literally stomp some sense into them. Stomp on Kobolds and collect 50 pieces of gear while you make your way to the boss room.
The boss for the Waterworks is Waxface, a large Kobold. All players need to do is avoid the circle for Noxious Gas and avoid Lob Wax - a short cast that does a small amount of damage and leaves a slow on players.
Players can use their Restored Coffer Keys on any bountiful delves Tier 7 or higher to receive Champion level loot! Players can use up to 4 Restored Coffer Keys per day, and you have the chance to loot the Delver's Bounty treasure maps 3 times per week.
Delves offer players in The War Within the chance to get guaranteed loot and unlock high level gear in the Great Vault every week!

The Sinkhole has a final boss tho.... Cragpie
Out of date...
Little out of date already, unfortunately. Waxface as a boss is very difficult for many classes, even at level 8 (even before the hot fixes that messed things up)
